How to Make Hard-Boiled Eggs in the Oven

Eggs are packed with protein and other excellent nutrition. Lots of people like to eat eggs “hard-boiled” because it’s a healthy, fast, and easy way to prepare them. By definition, it seems obvious that hard boiled eggs should be prepared by boiling them in water, but there is a better way to prepare them – by baking them in the oven.

That’s right, it turns out you can get the perfect hard-boiled eggs when you make hard “baked” eggs. Here are the steps to making hard-baked eggs:

  • Get out a standard muffin tin.
  • Place the eggs, one by one, in the muffin tin (one egg per spot where muffins would normally be baked).
  • You don’t need water or any other moisture.
  • Put the eggs in the oven at 325 degrees for 30 minutes.
  • While you wait for them to cook, prepare some ice water in a large bowl.
  • As soon as you take the eggs out, place them in the ice water to “shock” them. Be careful – the eggs will be hot so wear gloves to handle them.
  • After cooling in the ice water, peel the eggs and you’ll see you have the perfect hard-boiled, or rather, hard-baked, eggs!
