Hang a Wall Collage of Photographs in Your Lady Lake, FL, Apartment

At The Quarters, our apartments are color-coordinated in one of three professional schemes – beige, taupe, or grey – making decorating your apartment a little bit easier. But you may still want to add your own personal touches to make it feel more like home. One easy way to do this is by a wall collage of photographs.

Use this guide to create your own wall collage in your Lady Lake, FL, apartment:

First, make a decision on which wall you are going to use. Look around your apartment and decide which wall would be best suited for a collage. You want one that has plenty of space to hang your photos and would enhance your room, not one that would make the room look too cluttered or busy.

Next, gather your photos and photo frames. You want to know exactly how many pictures you will hang and the sizes of them. You can purchase photo frames for cheap at thrift shops, flea markets, and dollar stores so this doesn’t have to be a major expense. Additionally, don’t limit yourself to what you put in the frames. Aside from beloved photographs, you can also frame old wallpaper, pages from books, or even fabric.

Then, lay out your collage on the floor first. Most wall collages are done in a rectangle, square, or diamond shape but be creative with the placement and how you want it to look.

Next, visualize it on the wall. Using old newspapers, outline the frames that are arranged on the floor, cut out the outlines, and then hang them on the wall with tape to visualize how your collage will look. Just because something looks nice on the floor, doesn’t necessarily mean it will translate to the wall. This way, you can move and shift your “frames” to make sure they look perfect before you begin hanging.

Lastly, it’s time to hang! One at a time, replace a cut-out outline with the correct photo frame, using 3M Command Hanging Strips so you can put up your photos without incurring damage to the walls, until all your photos have been hung. Step back and enjoy your new wall collage!

And there you have it – an easy and cost-effective way to decorate a wall of your apartment. Over time, you may want to add to the collage or replace the photos in the frames.

A wall collage would make a great addition to your apartment at The Quarters. If you are not yet a resident of our community and would like to request a tour to see all our wonderful amenities, call or stop by our leasing office and we would be glad to help you.
