Kitchen Secrets that Will Make Your Life Easier and More Fun

Cooking is a fun hobby for many of us, and it gives us the added benefit of leaving us with delicious food to enjoy with our loved ones. Another entertaining aspect of cooking is, no matter how many years you’ve practiced, there are always new tricks and secrets to learn.

Here are a few kitchen secrets you might want to try when you’re experimenting in the kitchen:

  • Make ice cream with bananas – If you have a few ripe bananas you’d like to eat before they go bad, peel them, cut them up into small pieces, and put them in a deep bowl. Then, put the bowl in your freezer for an hour or two. Take them out, mix them thoroughly, and you have an ice cream-like treat to snack on.
  • Keeping fish from sticking on the grill – Fish is a delicious staple to cook with, but it tends to stick to pans and grills, making it inconvenient to cook with. You can keep your fish from sticking to your pan or grill by putting some slices of lemon underneath the fish before you begin cooking. Your fish will taste great, too.
  • Another great use for cooking spray – Measuring sticky ingredients like peanut butter or honey can be tricky because they stick to you measuring spoons and cups. To avoid the mess, spray your measuring cup or spoon with cooking spray before you try to measure something sticky.
  • Use rubber gloves to open jars – Everybody knows how frustrating it is to be unable to open the lid on a jar. One trick to help is by putting on a pair of rubber gloves. The traction will help you remove that lid with ease.
