Over time, though, all ceiling fan blades tend to gather dust and need to be cleaned. Luckily for our residents, we have provided a few simple instructions with how to properly clean these fans blades and keep dust to a minimum.
To clean your ceiling fan blades at The Quarters, follow these steps:
- Start by taping over the fan’s wall switch, and taping the fan’s pull cord to one of the fan blades, to prevent accidentally turning the fan on
- Drop a sheet, cloth, or towel onto your floor to catch any dust that may fall
- Stand on a sturdy step ladder underneath the fan, ensuring that you stand high enough to be able to see over the fan blades
- Use a wet paper towel or cloth to wipe down each blade of the fan
- Use a dry rag to dry each fan blade and ensure that you’ve removed all dust from the blades
- If standing on a ladder seems daunting, consider cleaning your ceiling fan blades with a long vacuum attachment or another tool designed to clean hard-to-reach areas
Cleaning your ceiling fan blades once every few months should do the trick and keep too much dust from gathering and spreading throughout your apartment.
