Have you ever thought about all the places you take your laptop? Whether it goes with you to work, the airport, the coffee shop, or just travels around your apartment, chances are your laptop has picked up some germs. To keep those germs from spreading around your apartment home, follow this guide to easily sanitize your laptop.
What you’ll need:
- Microfiber Cloth
- Compressed Air
- Rubbing Alcohol
- Water
Start with a bottle of compressed air. You can find this almost anywhere electronics are sold. Just keep in mind you have to be at least eighteen years old to purchase compressed air and it should be handled carefully and kept away from children. Using the fine nozzle, spray in-between keys on your keyboard to dislodge anything that has gotten stuck in there.
Once you’ve finished with the keyboard you should start making your cleaner. To make a simple electronics cleaner, mix about one fourth cup of rubbing alcohol with one fourth cup of water and pour the mixture into a spray bottle. This will be more than you need for one cleaning but you can save whatever is left over to use in the future. If you would rather buy a premade cleaning solution, you can find electronics cleaner most places electronics are sold.
Next, take a microfiber cloth which will help to avoid scratching, and spray it with the rubbing alcohol mixture. Be careful to keep the cloth mostly dry as using too much of the liquid could damage your computer. Rub the cloth carefully over the laptop’s back, screen and keyboard. Repeat this process once or twice a month for optimal cleanliness.
