Preparing a Delicious Seafood Dinner at Your Lady Lake Apartment

If you’ve always wanted to learn how to cook, preparing a delicious fish dinner is one of the best ways to get started. Especially in Florida where fresh seafood is so abundant, learning to cook fish can be a very rewarding experience. Best of all, as a resident at The Quarters, you’ll have every appliance you’ll need to start cooking right away thanks to the fully equipped kitchens found in every apartment.

Here are all the supplies you’ll need to prepare your seafood dinner:

  • A packet of fish fillets from a mild, white fish - Grouper, tilapia, flounder, and snapper are all great examples

  • A carton of eggs, preferably jumbo or extra large

  • All-purpose flour

  • Seasoned or Panko bread crumbs

  • One or two lemons

  • Tartar sauce

  • Non-stick aluminum foil

Once you’ve purchased your supplies, take care to properly prepare your fish fillets before cooking. Eating a small, dagger-like fish bone can be an unfortunate and painful surprise, so be extra careful to ensure that your fish is bone-free. Inspect the sides and lower part of your fillet for any fish bones, which can occasionally sneak into even de-boned fillets. Also, take care to remove the line of dark flesh that runs down the center of the fillet. This “blood line” has a very pronounced, unpleasant taste and it can cause the fillet to have a strong “fishy” flavor, even after cooking.

Now that the fillet is prepared, pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees. Next, grab a large bowl and beat two eggs per pound of fish. Once the eggs are uniformly whisked, wash each fillet and pat it almost dry with a paper towel. Coat each fillet in a light layer of flour and then dunk each of them into the beaten egg mix. Once the outside of the fillet is properly coated in egg, cover it in a layer of seasoned breadcrumbs and place it atop a sheet of non-stick aluminum foil in an oven safe baking tray. Bake the fish for somewhere between 10 and 15 minutes, making sure to check periodically to see if it is done. Now all you have to do is serve it with a wedge of lemon, the tartar sauce, and your favorite vegetables, and you’ll be ready to enjoy a tasty seafood meal at your Lady Lake apartment.
