• If you don’t already have a destination in mind, narrow down a list of possible places you would like to visit before proceeding any further. Distance from home, cost, and your own personal interests all major factors that you should consider.
• Once you have a destination picked out, look at websites like Travelocity.com, Orbitz.com, and Kayak.com to find and compare the best rates for travel, activities, and lodging at your vacation spot of choice.
• If you plan to fly to your vacation spot, book your flight as early in advance as possible. By reserving a flight early, you’ll not only be able to get the best prices, but you’ll be able to have your choice of the most convenient takeoff times and connecting flights.
• Look at the attractions at your destination and budget your money and time in advance, assigning priority to the things you want to participate in the most. In the case of longer vacations, make sure to allow some time for rest so that you don’t get burned out from all the non-stop activity.
• If you’re looking for a tropical or beach vacation, instead of spending hard-earned money to go abroad, consider a vacation right here in sunny Florida. For example, if you want to experience the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean, you can get a very similar vacation in the Florida Keys.
