These days, most of us own at least one cellular phone, which means we have to keep up with making sure the phone’s battery is charged. Otherwise, a “dead” cell phone is pretty useless and we might miss an important call or text.
That said, there are many tips about how to properly charge cell phones. For example, you might have heard that you need to drain your phone’s battery before plugging it in to charge it. Or that you should never leave your phone hooked up to a charger overnight.
It turns out, however, that lots of phone charging tips are actually not true. Read on for more information about properly charging your cell phone:
- It’s okay to use your cell phone while it’s charging – As long as you’re using your phone’s original charger, it’s okay to use your cell phone for making a call, texting, using an app, etc.
- It’s okay to keep your phone charging even when the battery is full – If you accidentally leave your phone plugged in when it’s at 100 percent charge, you won’t damage the phone as long as you don’t make a daily habit of it.
- Turn off your phone occasionally – Once a week, give your phone a rest. Turning it off for a little while will help your phone last longer and will preserve its battery life, too.
- It’s okay to charge your phone when it’s not totally drained – That’s right, you don’t have to wait until your phone is dead to charge it. It’s actually better to charge your phone often instead of waiting for it to be at zero percent juice.
