Between the release of the first iPhone in June 2007 and August 2017, there have been an astonishing 1.2 billion iPhones sold, and it is estimated that there are almost 90 million iPhone users in the United States. And with all those users loving their iPhones, a common issue has appeared to affect them – they use their iPhones so much, they run out of space to store their precious photos.
It would seem logical that deleting some of those photos would free some space, but no one wants to do that, so here are some other ways to clear up space on an iPhone:
- Delete unnecessary apps – Chances are, you’ve downloaded some applications that you rarely, if ever, use. You can free up some space on your iPhone by deleting them.
- Use HDR mode with care – When taking photos with an iPhone, the High Dynamic Range (HDR) feature helps to balance highlights and shadows to give you the best-quality picture. However, these photos take up more room on your phone. If you have photos taken in HDR mode that you can part from, delete them. Also, don’t enable HDR mode unless you’re really trying to take a high-quality photo.
- Delete old text messages – If you have any old text messages you don’t care about, delete them.
- Clear your browser (Safari) history and data – Go to Settings, Safari (or whatever browser you use on your iPhone) and clear your History, Cookies, and Cache. This will free up space on your phone, but keep in mind that you will need to re-enter passwords on any website where you have them saved.
