First, take everything out so that you can get a clear idea of what you actually have in there. This will also give you an opportunity to wipe down the shelves and clean up any spills or crumbs.
Check the labels and throw away anything that’s past its expiration date.
Gather up any unopened nonperishables that you’re unlikely to use and take them to a local donation center.
Organize your shelves by category, placing pasta, rice, and grains on one shelf, spices on another, snacks on another, and so on.
Use containers to organize and store smaller items, like freezer bags, chip clips, and plastic cutlery.
