Daylight saving time was unofficially practiced for centuries, starting first when ancient civilizations would alter their daily schedules to accommodate the changing light throughout each season. In the United States, it was first observed in 1918. In all of the years since, the human population, including residents of our Lady Lake, Florida apartments, still find it difficult to adjust to the one-hour time change that occurs twice a year. However, there are simple things we can all do to help better adjust to when we have to spring forward or fall back.
The next time daylight saving time comes around and you have to provide time changes, remember to:
- Consider changing your clocks before you go to bed, as daylight saving time occurs at 2 a.m. and you probably don’t want to wake up the next morning to an incorrect time
- Change your clocks either an hour ahead in winter/early spring or an hour behind in fall
- Go to bed earlier when the time changes in spring, as you will lose an hour overnight
- Adjust and slowly transition your diet to accommodate the changing times of day
Our residents may not always like the time change, but at least now they’ll be better prepared for it. For additional information about The Quarters Apartment Homes, please fill out the form on our Contact Us page or stop by our leasing office today for a personal tour.
