It’s possible that while living
in our Lady Lake, Florida apartments, you’ve heard
about the Seven Wonders of the World. However, did you
know there are actually two sets of them? That’s
right, there are the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World
and the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. All of the
modern wonders – such as the Empire State Building,
Golden Gate Bridge, and Panama Canal – are still
standing. What is especially intriguing about the ancient
wonders is that all but one, the Great Pyramids of Giza,
were destroyed over time.
The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World
are:
- The Great Pyramids of Giza in Giza
Necropolis, Egypt
- The Hanging Gardens of Babylon in
modern-day Iraq
- The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus
in Selcuk, Turkey
- The Statue of Zeus at Olympia in
Olympia, Greece
- The Mausoleum of Halicarnassus in
Bodrum, Turkey
- The Colossus of Rhodes in Rhodes,
Greece
- The Lighthouse of Alexandria in Alexandria,
Egypt
Though all but one of these wonders
are now gone, they are still an important historical element
of the world we live in and can be fun to learn about.
While it may not be listed as a Wonder
of the World, we still think our apartment community is
wonderful. If you would like more information about our
